Streetlight Tracker helps your team report, track, and manage streetlight faults in the field. Open the app on your phone and the map shows all assets in your area. Your location (blue dot) updates automatically.
Assets marked as Out of Service by an admin are shown as grey, semi-transparent dots on the map. They are excluded from fault counts and reports. This status is used for assets intentionally taken offline for planned maintenance or upgrades.
Tap 🔍 in the header to open search. There are three tabs:
Use the layer switcher (top-right of the map) to switch between Street map, Dark map, Satellite view, and the Cable schematic overlay.
Tap 🌙 in the header to switch to dark mode. Tap ☀️ to return to light mode. The app remembers your preference between sessions.
If you lose signal, the app shows a banner and continues to display the last saved asset data in read-only mode. You cannot make changes while offline — this prevents data conflicts. When connectivity returns the banner disappears and the map refreshes automatically.
If your role includes maintenance logging, a 🔧 Register maintenance button appears when you open an asset. Select the task type, add optional notes, and confirm. This appears in the asset's history timeline alongside status changes.
Tap 📋 View history on any asset to see a combined timeline of all status changes and maintenance records, newest first. Status changes show as coloured dots; maintenance records show as square markers.
The coloured buttons below the header filter the map to show only assets with a specific status. Tap All to show everything again.
The hamburger menu (top-right) contains: Dashboard, Asset Condition Report, Admin panel, Add asset, Help, and Privacy Policy. Dashboard and Admin are only visible to admin accounts.
The dashboard (admin only) shows live KPIs, fault trend charts, mean time to resolution by fault type, team activity, longest current faults, and recurring problem assets.
The condition report (admin only) analyses fault frequency trends for each asset over 90 days. It shows the most faulted assets, those that are worsening month-on-month, and those that are improving. Use this to build business cases for asset replacement or upgrade programmes.
Streetlight Tracker is an internal operational tool used to manage streetlight assets. This policy explains what personal data is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.
Data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests — specifically, the operational requirement to maintain accurate records of public infrastructure and to comply with any applicable duty-of-care obligations.
Your data is used solely for operational purposes: tracking asset status, enabling fault diagnosis, recording maintenance activity, and providing an audit trail for compliance and incident reporting (for example, if a member of the public reports a fall near a faulted streetlight).
All data is stored on a privately operated server within your organisation's control. Data is not shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising. The server is protected by Cloudflare's network and requires authentication for all access. Nightly encrypted backups are taken to a separate location.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access data held about you, request correction of inaccurate data, and request deletion of your account and associated personal data. To exercise these rights, contact your system administrator. Note that audit log entries recording actions you took on public infrastructure may be retained for legal compliance reasons even after account deletion.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Your administrator will notify you of material changes.
For questions about this policy or to exercise your data rights, contact your system administrator.
